Blood Oath by T.L. Clarke: Interview

YA Paranormal
Welcome to the dark and powerful world of the Eternals.

My name is Gabrielle Martin. And before I discovered that I was born into a secret society called the Eternals-blood oath Warriors sworn to track and slay the dark and evil creatures that walk the shadows of the earth-there were only three things that I truly cared about: one, starting my freshman year at Vineswell Academy; two, learning how to use my fledgling supernatural powers; and three, not getting killed by expelled Eternal Warrior Hannah.

But that was way before the blinders were ripped from my eyes, only to discover that everything I had known to be true was a lie...essentially smoke and mirrors to disguise a deadly world filled with half-human, half-vampire Underworld Warriors with one only goal-to kill all Eternal Warriors.

Now, after a massive attack on Vineswell Academy that left no survivors, I am reporting to Transcendence Hall to start official Eternal Warrior training, which would have been smooth sailing except for the two gorgeous Eternals, Chaos and Justice, who are out to ruin my life, and an Eternal prophecy that puts me smack in the middle of saving the planet.

So the question is, can I actually survive this mess? I'll let you be the judge of that...

Books in The Gabby Girls Adventure Series:
Book #1 - The Secret of the Scarlet Stone
Book #2 - Blood Oath

I rubbed my eyes tiredly. "Don't ask me how, but I think I just witnessed my own death."
I felt hollow, empty as the words escaped my stiff lips. Suddenly, a sharp pain pierced my chest, my hand unconsciously seeking the pained spot. My hands stilled as I felt the puckering of my burnt skin. Oh. My. Goodness. I started to panic, frantically rubbing the raw, puckered skin until it miraculously smoothened back to its baby soft skin.
Okay, relax. It's just the residual from the dream. Breathe, Gabi. It's over, I thought, coaching myself just like Grandma Celeste had taught me when I told her about the crazy dreams that I'd been having lately. She said that calming and controlling my mind was the only way to push out the spirits who sought to summon and control me through my dreams.
Either way, I hated the icky feeling of knowing that all this madness had started the minute that we decided to accept our gifts and legacy, and as if on cue, the floodgates of crazy had just opened up.

What are your favorite TV shows?

What is your favorite meal?

My favorite food is anything Thai. Just talking about it makes me hungry.

I spend time relaxing with my husband watching horror movies. It’s like a movie marathon of crazy D rated horror movies that never made it to the theater because they were so bad.

Who should play you in a film?

Angela Jolie. She’s just so kick-butt.

Morning Person? Or Night Person? How do you know?

I’m definitely a Night person. It’s like everything kicks into high-gear for me after 5PM. In the morning I’m ‘Oscar the Grouch’ until I have at least two cups of coffee then sanity kicks in.

What makes you happy?

Spending quality time with my husband, mother and baby sister and doing lots of traveling.

If I came to visit early in the morning would you impress me as being more like a chirpy bird or a grumpy bear?

More like a mean, snarling, foaming at the mouth grumpy bear. Well that’s until I get some coffee.

What one word best describes you?
Hilarious ;-)

What is something people would be surprised to know about you?

I love Zumba (class). I’m shaking it, all salsa dancing mode at least four days a week.

Do you have a favorite quote, quip, or saying? What is it?

Yes, my favorite saying is “It is what it is”.
