Forever Angel by January Bain: Interview and Excerpt
How did you start your writing career?
I started my writing career because I needed to escape from the tedium and heartbreak of everyday life. Living through a character’s life was a refreshing relief. And I found I liked it, and I didn’t suck too badly at it. Next I knew, I found the courage to submit my work and I was fortunate to get picked up by Champagne Books. Thanks everybody at Champagne, especially, Ellen, our esteemed publisher.
Tell us about a favorite character from a book.
Hands down I’d vote for my newest character: Trixie Lee Bútton. She’s southern Mississippi smart; she’s spunky, passionate and so damn likeable. Or, and she’s half-angel and in lusty love with a werewolf. Oh my! She makes me blush with her antics.
Tell us about your current release.
Forever Angel is the fourth book in the Forever Series. If you love vampires and angels, enjoy a quest for redemption and want to escape this world for a while, this book is for you.
How do you describe your writing style?
Because I write from the heart, and I love storytelling, I first and foremost want to tell a great story filled with real characters and lots of twists and turns and lessons learned. The journey is everything when I write and I take the responsibility very seriously.
What makes you happy?
That has changed a lot over the years. Now, it’s just a day when nothing bad happens in the world and the day goes by smoothly, with lots of time to write and read and spend time with my loved one.
Describe what it’s like to be an author in three words.
Passionate. Determined. Magical.
What do you find most rewarding about writing?
Getting to live inside a story and watch it unfold in my mind. It is a blessing and a privilege. J

Will the blood be enough to save the Vampire Clans from certain annihilation?
You’ll like Julie. She’s a very nice small-town girl from halfway around the world who needs a change of scenery. Promise me that you’ll show her a good time while she’s here, Jax. She knows nothing about our being vampire and since you’re a Daywalker you’re our only hope in keeping her suspicions at bay, though with her sister-in-law Ellie being a true healer she might have a more open mind than most.
That was his ma’s words just one week ago and here he was heading for the airport to pick up that bit of baggage, dutiful son that he was. He snorted in derision, remembering how absolutely unimpressed he was to be the official escort of someone—he almost used the word hick but thought better of it—from Nome, Alaska. And to think he had important plans this week—lord knows time was the one thing he did not have enough of and what little he had certainly did not include chaperoning a Miss Julie Stone through the tourist spots of Luxor. He ran his hands through hair that the sun had bleached to a burnished gold, his azure blue eyes glinting angrily in his tanned face, the chiseled jaw-line tightening from the momentary annoyance.
