The Circle

Calum Ranson is sure of three things: his cousin Finley is alive, Calum will find him, and no one knows Calum and his family are Sidhe. No one until Laurel shows up at his mother's bookstore wearing a dark clan's mark. When Calum learns the details surrounding the disappearance of Laurel's brother, he suspects the evil Hobayeth clan. Calum and Laurel work together in the Realm of Man and the Otherworld to rescue her brother - revealing a connection between Calum and Laurel that may cost Finley his life.

"The Circle is full of magic and mystery. Readers will be engrossed in faerie realms, charming characters, and a state of wonder and imagination. The Circle is for those who delight in reading fantasy and exploring mystical worlds."

Chapter Six
~ p.55 ~

Riley joined her brother in making jokes about Calum’s athletic abilities, saying things like “He’s the best player on the other team” or “Don’t stand too close to him, his skills will rub off.” This backfired on her though, when Coach Payne escorted her and Calum to social studies class one day after PE.

Calum rocked back on his heels as he stood uncomfortably between his two teachers.

“Ms. Cagle,” Coach Payne began, “I’ve noticed Riley giving Calum a lot of attention. Have you seen anything like that in your class?”

“No, but you know what that usually means,” said Ms. Cagle.

Coach Payne looked puzzled.

“Now Riley dear,” said Ms. Cagle, “it sounds like you like Calum.”

What? Ugh, no way. Calum blushed deep red and cast a glance at Riley. She looked more furious than embarrassed.
I asked Calum Ranson, of The Circle what were his five favorite things about being a Sidhe.

Here is his response:
1. Traveling to the Otheworld is awesome! The Otherworld is filled with hundreds of different faerie clans.  Each is unique with their own special talents.  That leads me to number two on my list.
2. Each clan has their own specialty food.  Everything tastes great, even the broken broomsticks!
3. Sidhe school is a lot of fun, especially learning about gathering intentions. I'm still working on that one.
4. My grandparents live in the Otherworld, so I love going there to visit them.
5. The best reason about being a Sidhe is I will be able to see Brownshire again.  Although I don't know that he will like it.
