Grand Theft Magic by Richard Blunt: Interview: PUYB Tour Stop

Welcome.  I am so happy that you could visit today.  How did you start your writing career?

By accident actually. I told a story to a few friends and they encouraged me to write it down, so they could “hear” it again whenever they had time.

Tell us about your current release.

“Grand Theft Magic” is part three of the “Lucas Trent” bookseries. After finding together in part one and getting a glimpse of the greater picture in part two the heroes now face the real world again and have to learn fast and painful that it’s not a game they have stumbled into. And for the first time they have to realize that their lives are in danger if they are not extra careful.

Who is your favorite author?

There are a lot of authors out there that I like. The most favorite would maybe be Agatha Christie. She had a great style and nice stories.

When in the day/night do you write? How long per day?

I only write when I have time for it, after all this is more or less a hobby. (Although it is an expensive one.) But my most productive time normally is early morning.

What is the hardest part of writing your books?

Staying consistent. It’s really hard to stay focused on all the details all the time.

What does your significant other and family think of your writing career?
Most of them don’t even know that I write. And that’s a good thing. The ones that do know are inspired by it and sometimes think about writing does…

Does your significant other read your stuff?

Sure thing…

Do you have critique partners or beta readers?

Not as many as I would like, but I have a few.

What was one of the most surprising things you learned while writing your books?
For me it was most surprising to see how different the interpretations of some things are. It’s really hard to make people follow your thoughts…

Who are your books published with?
I am a self-publisher, so the cover says “Blunt Publishing”. But of course I do have logistic partners, printers, etc. involved.

Publishing under a pen name to keep his personal life separate from his writing life, Richard Blunt was raised in the heart of Europe, in a nation where English is not the native language. Like his heroes, Richard blunt is nothing more than a shadow – a specter that whispers a story for everyone to hear.

Can they survive the battles at hand? Will they be able to tell friend from foe? Or will the epic quest they have stumbled into be too much for them to handle?

Follow Lucas Trent and his friends through an action-paced story of mysteries, secrets and deceptions and find out…
