Alpha Instinct by Katie Reus - Guest Post

Thank you so much to Laurie for letting me blog here today!

Thanks to Valentine’s Day (which has since passed), I always think of February as the month of love. While V-Day is pretty cool because of all the chocolate that abounds (more please!) this month is awesome for another reason (well for me anyway). The first book in my Moon Shifter series recently released from Signet Eclipse. Alpha Instinct is full of sexy shifters, devious villains and paranormal goodness.

I’m a big fan of the paranormal and while it’s hard for me to pick a favorite type of supernatural character, when it comes down to it shifters totally own me. There’s something so sexy about a shifter hero, whether it’s a wolf or panther or jaguar, it doesn’t matter much to me. I think it’s because they’re more in touch with their animal side. There’s nothing hotter than a (fictional) guy who’s all possessive and protective of his woman and doesn’t care if the world knows it.

I love reading about heroes who aren’t afraid to protect their female or let everyone else know she’s taken. And the ability to change into an animal is pretty freaking cool. So it’s probably no surprise that the hero in Alpha Instinct is an Alpha shifter who knows what he wants and isn’t afraid to go after it. In fact, the first three books in my series all feature sexy shifter heroes and I’m so excited Alpha Instinct has finally made its debut.

So, my question is… If you could turn into an animal what would you want it to be? Me? It would be a tossup between a wolf or a dolphin. They’re both pretty cool! One reader who comments on the blog today will be randomly selected to win a print copy of Alpha Instinct (US eligible only). Good luck and thanks so much for stopping by!

Alpha Instinct official blurb:

Fear has a scent. So does desire…

Ana Cordona has been a strong leader for the lupine shifters who survived after all the males and most of the females in her pack were mysteriously poisoned. As tough as she is, with no Alpha male, the pack is vulnerable to the devious shifter Taggart, who wants to claim both their ranch and Ana as his own. When Connor Armstrong comes back into her life, promising protection, it’s almost enough to make Ana forget how he walked out on her before—and reluctantly accept his offer to mate.
The minute Connor sees Ana again, it reawakens a raw hunger. He must have her for his bondmate—his wolf cries out for it. But his human side knows he must proceed with caution because of their complicated past. If he is to truly have her body and soul, he must go beyond his burning desire and win back her heart. Whatever it takes, he is determined not to leave her side again.

But Taggart and his rival pack are not their only enemies. A human element in town is targeting shifters. Their plan not only threatens Ana and Connor’s future, but the lives of the entire pack…

I had to check out this blog by another Laurie and found your giveaway. Lucky me! I would love to give your book to someone I work with who's a big werewolf/shapeshifter fan. I'm not really an animal lover (scared of most of them) so if I had to choose one to turn into, I guess it would be something like a unicorn, peaceable and herbivorous.

I'm thinking maybe a panther or a jaguar. Both are beautiful animals. Great post and blurb. Thanks for the giveaway.

I am thinking of a phoenix, but if mystical creatures are not allowed then, a sparrow or an eagle. I always liked the idea of having wings, evenif I have to be weak.

I would have to say a lion or a tiger. I can't imagine a more powerful or beautiful animal. Plus, would be nice to be at the top of the food chain!!!

Congrats on your shifter debut, Katie! Sounds like a great story! If I could choose one, I've always admired wolves or those big cats--they are so beautiful and sleek!

I love chocolate! I just went crazy the other day buying after V-Day candy with my husband just shaking his head at me. Lol! And aren't those Alpha males yummy! If I could be any animal, I'm not quite sure what I would be. Hmm...I know, a white tigress! They are beautiful and powerful! ;)
