Echo Falls by Jaime McDougall - Character Interview : Pump Up Your Book Tour Stop

Running from a nightmare stalking her every move, Phoebe Martin arrives in Echo Falls hoping she has finally found a safe place to stop. But trouble has a way of catching up and soon the signs are there.

After a vicious attack in an alley, policeman Aidan O’Bryan is left with Phoebe as his only path to understanding why the Echo Falls werewolf pack – his pack – is being attacked. When another pack member is killed, Phoebe is forced to confront her past before she loses Aidan and everything she has come to love.

Love and duty become one as Aidan strives to prevent Phoebe from becoming the next victim. But with Phoebe just as determined to protect Aidan and her new home, secrets from her past threaten to tear them apart.

Will love give Phoebe the strength to trust Aidan and face her fears, or will her past destroy her future?

Interview with Phoebe and Aidan from Echo Falls by Jaime McDougall

Jaime: Hello Phoebe and Aidan! I'm so happy to see you. It's been a while.

Aidan: Hello, Jaime.

Phoebe: Hello. Yes, you published our story in July. We haven't talked much since.

[The Jaime nods.]

Jaime: True. That's the way it goes sometimes. Just to clarify for people reading here, I'm interviewing you as you are after the events that took place in Echo Falls.

[Phoebe and Aidan nod.]

Jaime: For having been out in the world for a few months now, you certainly look like you're doing well. In fact, Phoebe, you're looking fantastic for someone who went through such traumatic events. You're even smiling, which you never did much of for me.

[Phoebe looks at Aidan and blushes. He reaches over to hold her hand.]

Phoebe: Let's just say that something that happened in the book has had consequences after the book. Good consequences.

[The Jaime arches her eyebrow and smiles.]

Jaime: Aidan. Some of the feedback we've been getting from readers is that you're still a mysterious guy after reading the book. I have to admit, it took a long time before you let me have any insight into who you are.

[Aidan shrugs.]

Aidan: I had to know I could trust you.

Jaime: Trust me? But I'm your Jaime.

Aidan: Even so. As a pack leader, I have to be very careful about who I let have contact with me and the pack. I have a duty to protect them.

Jaime: Okay, I'll give you that. But either of you could have made it a little easier on me. A hint. Something. On another note, how is the pack going these days?

Aidan: Well.

[Silence until Phoebe snorts and laughs.]

Phoebe: Everyone is doing well. We were all shaken up for a while after everything that happened, but it brought us closer together as a pack.

Jaime: How is Charlotte?

Phoebe: Much better. She doesn't have the nightmares anymore and can sleep in her own bed again. Things were a little touchy for a while, but Elle told me that the doctor said it could have been much worse.

Jaime: As you know, I've been taking a closer look at Charlotte, and Echo Falls fans will get to know her a bit better as well.

[Phoebe and Aidan nod.]

Aidan: We know our story is settled, but we're glad you'll head back to Echo Falls. There are a lot more stories there than you give credit for. We're looking forward to seeing where we are in life, seventeen years from now.

Phoebe: And we're looking forward to seeing what kind of young woman Charlotte grows into.

Jaime: Me too.

[The Jaime clears her throat.]

Jaime: Thank you, Phoebe and Aidan, for this interview. I know you two are rather covetous of your time together. In my timeline, I'll be seeing you tonight when I sit down to write. But in your timeline… Well, see you in seventeen years.
