Deadman's Blood (Blood Series, Book #5) by T Lynne Tolles-Character Interview, Giveaway:CBLS Tour Stop

As the dust settles from the destruction of the Bloodstone Heart, a small scroll that had been hidden in the hearth of the altar room for hundreds of years, reveals a prophecy that seems to be about the Larsen family. While the group tries to unravel the riddles of the prophecy they also start to notice they've acquired some interesting new powers from the Bloodstone itself, some of which are going to take some getting use to.

Darby and Devon head to Ireland to set up house and get ready for their impending nuptials when Darby is asked to help cure the Summer Queen of the Everworld or the delicate balance of power between the Seelie and Unseelie courts will topple throwing the planet into a deadly ice age.

While at home, things take a turn for the worse when there's a tragic airplane crash, the Larsen vampires start dropping like flies, Bernard goes missing, and all the bad deeds dealt seem to point towards one person - the Dark Angel. What's so important about the altar room? Why are people dying in the name of this prophecy? Will the Larsen's survive these new tragedies? These questions and other deep seated secrets will be revealed in this final installment of the Blood Series.

Character Interview – Deadman’s Blood

Dean Wolfe, Blake Bloomington and Mark Rosenthal

Laurie:  “Welcome guys! I’m so glad you could be my guests today.”

Dean’s stern face reveals a hint of a smile while Mark has his arms crossed over his chest and nods.

Blake: “We’re very happy to be here, Laurie.” Blake smiles widely strangely lighting up the room a bit.

Laurie: “Why don’t you introduce yourselves to my friends?”

Blake looks to his left at Dean, then to his right at Mark, both of them refusing to budge. Blake sighs and continues: “I’m Blake Bloomington,”
he points to his right at Mark and says:
“This is Mark Rosenthal,” to which Mark nods again.
Then Blake turns his head to Dean and says:
And this messy-haired, unshaven guy is Dean Wolfe.”
Mark chuckles under his breath.
Dean’s eyebrow raises in disapproval to both and says: “It’s not messy it’s disheveled and it’s a five –o’clock shadow…The girls love think it’s sexy.” Dean says feeling his stubble.

Mark snickers under his breath: “Sure they do, Dean.”

Laurie: “So tell me Mark, how do you fit in with this crowd?”
Mark quickly turns his attention from Dean to Laurie: “Um, well, Darby hired me as a Private Investigator to help her look for Devon a while back. I met these doofuses through her.”

Laurie looks to Dean and says: “And you, Dean?”

Dean: “My brother Benjamin was killed by an old fart named Terrence Paine who was trying to kill Blake and his brother Devon.  Paine injected my brother’s blood into Rowan, Darby’s sister when he kidnapped her, which turned her into a werewolf.  I guess they figured I was the best person to come to with questions about werewolves and what would become of Rowan, so they all descended on me at my farm in Colorado. That’s when I met “Bat boy” here,” Dean refers to Blake who rolls his eyes.

Blake : “I’ve told you a million times, Dean. I can’t turn into a bat. I’m just a boring old vampire.”

Mark: “Old is right… you’re like five times older than me.”

Blake: “Four times and some odd change – just to be clear.”

Laurie: “And you, Blake?”

Blake: “Oh right, I’m Devon’s brother. We moved in next door to Darby and Rowan. Needless to say, I think my brother fell head over heals in love with Darby the very day he met her.”

Dean: “You fell for Rowan about as hard and as fast as your brother, don’t forget to mention that little point.”

Blake: “Yeah. Yeah. Gee Laurie, can you tell these two yank my chain to no end? It’s not bad enough I have a brother to ridicule me, but now I’ve gained to goons to add to it.”

Laurie laughs: “I can see that. Speaking of your brother, you mentioned that you are “boring old vampires”, but that’s not exactly telling us the whole truth is it?”

Blake: “You’re right, I’ve not been completely honest. Though nothing in our lives have been boring as of late, my Larsens are considered to be of royal blood. Devon and I are not completely “pure blood” vampires, but  our mother was.  Up until my mother married my father,  no one in the Larsen family had ever married someone without “pure blood”.

Laurie: “And what exactly does it mean to be a “pure blood” vampire?

Blake: “The Larsen family apparently is descendent from the first family of vampires ‘The Ancient Four” and because of that we are considered royalty among our peers. At least our cousin Anton is. Devon and I have ‘tainted’ blood since our mother Abigail Larsen married for love.

Laurie: “How interesting. So what are you three up to in this next adventure ‘Deadman’s Blood’?

Dean pretended to zip his lips and throw away the key while Marked re-crossed his arms over his chest  and would not make eye contact.

Blake: “Well as you can see we are not a liberty to say. You’ll just have to read the book yourself, but I can tell you that day in the altar room when Dimitri and his thugs were obliterated and the Bloodstone Heart was destroyed, we found a scroll that suggests that the Larsen’s are part of a prophecy AND…”

Both Mark and Dean look at Blake wide eyed wondering what secrets Blake will reveal.

Blake: “We have all obtained some new rather interesting,” Blake says eyeing Mark who looks terrified by what Blake’s next words might be. Blake continues, “and shall I say, entertaining, “ Blake says turning his head Dean’s way. Dean turns away as if in shame shaking his head as Blake continues: “new powers. I think I speak for everyone here in saying they are going to take some getting used to.”

Laurie: “Hmmm. You’ve certainly roused our curiosity. I guess there is no way you’ll tell us what happens then?

All three men shake their head ‘no’ smirking all the while.

Laurie: “Okay then, guess I’ll have to get reading.”

All three men nod in affirmation.

Laurie: “Thank you, gentlemen, for giving us a little insight into your lives. It’s certainly been an” ***pause***, “experience.”
